AROUND

Several CTA bus lines and the Red Line elevated trains move Lincoln Parkers throughout the city. Lake Shore Drive and the Kennedy Expressway (I-94) border the neighborhood to the east and west, but traffic can make getting to them a slow process at nearly any time of the day. Parking is at a premium, as permit-only areas and newly installed parking meters have further constrained the already tight supply of available spaces.

Lincoln Park, one of Chicago's most affluent and captivating neighborhoods, where wealth extends far beyond the financial aspect. This lakeside community is steeped in rich history, renowned cultural institutions, architectural treasures, and a myriad of opportunities for a fulfilling lifestyle.

While Lincoln Park now stands as a highly desirable neighborhood, it wasn't always this way. In the aftermath of World War II, the area experienced a decline as properties were divided and neglected. However, thanks to the efforts of the Lincoln Park Conservation Association, established in 1953, the neighborhood slowly began to transform. In the 1970s and 1980s, the allure of vintage apartments and a lively bar scene attracted a wave of young singles. Yet, as property values continued to rise, many of these individuals moved to neighboring areas like Lakeview and Wicker Park. Lincoln Park saw a shift as its vintage greystones were converted into upscale condos, and some were replaced by high-end single-family homes. While the vicinity around DePaul University still draws a younger crowd, the neighborhood, while maintaining its fashionable status, has evolved into a more serene and family-oriented environment, attracting older couples and affluent singles.

Today, Lincoln Park seamlessly blends its rich heritage with contemporary charm. This coveted neighborhood offers a wealth of amenities, including picturesque parks, renowned museums like the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, vibrant shopping districts, and a thriving dining scene. Its proximity to Lake Michigan provides residents with stunning lakefront views and opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Whether you're drawn to the captivating history, cultural experiences, architectural splendor, or the allure of an upscale lifestyle, Lincoln Park has something to offer everyone. Housing Stock

The block bordered by Willow, Armitage, Burling, and Orchard has been called the most expensive in Chicago—and one of the priciest in the country.
Chicago’s wealthiest families have bought multiple lots to create stunning in-town estates.
Along Burling, do not be surprised to see homes going for 10m+. But lesser mortals can find a home in Lincoln Park as well. 1 bedroom condos can be found in the 200-300s.

The bar scene is still jumping in Lincoln Park, mainly on Webster near the campus of DePaul University and on major streets like Clark and Lincoln Avenue.
